Synopsis: Romero, an immigrant in Los Angeles, dreams of becoming an actor in part to woo Rosa, a woman obsessed with soap operas. After he lands a role on a popular telenovela, Rosa’s interest is piqued, but the devotion to his dream is tested when he’s asked to play a rapist.

Director Biography: Born in Barranquilla, Colombia and grew up in queens, New York; she earned a BA at Bard College in Experimental Film and an MFA in Screenwritting from USC, where a short she wrote won an $11,000 grant from the Peter Stark Program. Prior to USC, Mary worked successfully in post-production, credited as the editor of the behind the scenes featurette for garden state as well as various commercials.
