Synopsis: Tran phobia is an every day problem around the world and in a religious and conservative city like Lima, Peru where their transgender citizens are not protected by any law.  It can be downright dangerous.  Transgender people from Lima open their lives and hearts and tell their stories about feat, hate discrimination, abuse, hops and dreams in a society that has openly turned its back to them.

Director Bio: Dante Alencastre -Born in Lima-Peru and immigrated to USA in 1976.  Graduated from Columbia University 1984 with a B.A. in French lit.  At the university he began his career as a theater director.  Directed theater in New York City and regionally.  In 1990 he directed two shorts that went to receive awards in New York City, screened at film festivals in Hannover,, Hamburg, Desden, and Chicago.  He lived in Amsterdam from 1993 to 2004 where he worked on cable tv, producing a news magazine that covered the Amsterdam's entertainment, culture, people,arts and lifestyles.  Back in the US he embarked on his life's ambition to made a documentary on the plight of LGBT community in his native country.  The fruit of the quest in En El Fuego (2007) premiered in OUTFEST in Los Angeles.
